Medium Carbon Ferro Manganese (MC Fe-Mn)

Medium Carbon Ferro Manganese (MC Fe-Mn) is a ferroalloy that is similar to Low Carbon Ferro Manganese (LC Fe-Mn) in composition, but with a higher carbon content. MC Fe-Mn typically contains 1-1.5% carbon, 75-80% manganese, and 6-8% iron. In comparison, LC Fe-Mn has a carbon content of less than 0.1%.

The higher carbon content in MC Fe-Mn makes it more suitable for use in the production of high-carbon steel, which requires a higher carbon content to achieve the desired properties. MC Fe-Mn is typically used in the production of high-carbon steel, which is used in applications such as cutting tools, springs, and high-strength wire.

MC Fe-Mn has similar deoxidizing and de-sulfurizing properties as LC Fe-Mn, but its higher carbon content can result in more carbon being added to the steel during the steelmaking process. This can be beneficial for some applications but can also result in more porosity and a higher risk of cracking in the finished product.
